Junie Gay Foster Eldreth, 83, of Kannapolis died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Pruitt Health - Town Center, Harrisburg after a period of declining health.
Junie Gay was born June 14, 1936 in Cabarrus Co. a daughter of the late Walter S. and Ruby Adams Foster. She was a lifelong area resident and member of West Point Baptist Church in earlier years. She retired from Cannon Mills where she had worked as a towel folder for many years. In addition to her parents, Junie Gay was preceded in death by her husband Billy Joe Eldreth in 1981 and her brother, Jack S. Foster.
She is survived by her children; Glynda Payne, Marilyn Norkett, Billy James Eldreth, all of Kannapolis, Ruby Mann of Oak Island, Barbara Plyler of TN, Claude W. Eldreth of GA and David L. Eldreth of KY, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her brother, Walter Foster, Jr. of Kannapolis and her sister, Barbara Jean Messer of Buford, GA and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to celebrate Junie Gay’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Whitley’s Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Nix and Rev. Don Draughn officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until service time.
