Joan Rae (Everett) Zimmerman

Joan Rae Zimmerman, 71, of Concord, North Carolina went home to the Lord on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 with her family by her bedside at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.

Joan is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Zimmerman; her son, William Oliver and his wife Emily, as well as son Wayne Oliver and his better half Amy Wilkerson each from Charlotte NC, and her beloved grandchildren, Brooks Martin Oliver and Ave Jane Oliver. In addition, her two sisters, Carolynn Brandon of Union City TN. and Kay Franco of Concord NC; one brother, David Everett and wife Amy Everett of Reelfoot Lake, a brother-in-law, Jerry Helms of Marco Island FL, and many nephews and nieces.

Joan was the daughter of the late Lawrence "Bill" and Hilda Mae Everett of Hickman.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her infant brother, John Larry Everett, and a sister, Shirley Jean Helms of Marco Island, Fl.

She was retired after many years as a sales rep for Kraft Foods and worked tirelessly as a dedicated military wife, homemaker, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. She loved life and her family very much. Joan was fiercely loyal to all those she cared for. Joan will be missed deeply.

A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Bethpage United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2019 in Hickman, Kentucky.

The family would like to thank the caring people all along her health care journey over the years and especially in the end, the caring people at the NorthEast Hospital and Rehab Center in Concord NC and of course the caring staff at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis NC for all their compassionate care.
