JAMES WILLIAM BRAWLEY

Obituary: Davidson- James William Brawley, 85, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, June 29, 2019, at CHS-NorthEast Medical Center. Born January 4, 1934 in Iredell County, James was a son of the late Troy and Mary Lentz Brawley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Brawley; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. James had earlier in life honorably served his country with distinction in the US Army. He was owner and operator of Janco Company. Mr. Brawley dearly loved his Lord and all of his family. God has blessed his family and friends with many memories that will never be forgotten. Mr. Brawley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family members with cherished memories include his wife, Ruby L. Barbee Brawley; his children, James Brawley, Jr. and wife, Gigi; Kelly Greene and husband, Joel; daughter in law, Vicki Brawley; his step sons, Ray Barbee and JR Frye; his grandchildren, Shawn, Holly, Erika, Alex and Steven; 5 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 2nd from 12:30 - 2:00 pm at City Revival Church. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mr. Brawley will begin at 2:00 pm in the church, conducted by Pastor Bryn Waddell and assisted by Rev. Garland Faw. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, with military honors. Memorials may be made in Mr. Brawley's name to American Heart Association, 128 South Tyron St., Charlotte, NC 28202.
