Evelyn Lorraine Hardin Pennington

Evelyn Lorraine Hardin Pennington, 92, of Charlotte passed away July 25, 2019 at her home of natural causes surrounded by her family. She was born September 25, 1926 in Forest City, a daughter of the late Ernest Perry Hardin and Alice Esmer Sprouse Hardin. She was one of 11 siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Doris Pennington in 1957. 

Evelyn became pastor of Mission of Hope in 1979 located in Kannapolis and Charlotte . She hosted her own TV program "The Evelyn Pennington Show for over 30 years in Kannapolis and Charlotte (Access 21) currently. Her family and her ministry were her life. She is known and loved for her ministry and prophetic teachings, counseling, and dedication throughout the Carolinas and country.

She is survived by her daughter, Doris P. Hesse, spouse Klaus, son, Ernest Tony Pennington and Margaret Pennington, grandchildren, Stephanie Dawn Robertson, spouse William Bruce Robertson III (Rob), Christopher David Larkin, Joshua Stephen Larkin, Toni Lejean Howell, spouse, B.J. Howell, great grandchildren, William Bruce Robertson IV (Will), Charles Xavier Robertson, Summer Hope Howell , Melody Eve Howell, sister, Alice Faye Hardin and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Larry Helms and wife, Tiffany. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 1 to 2 prior at Whitley’s.
