Dolores Maureen (Jarrell) Gantt

Dolores Maureen Gantt, 85 of Kannapolis, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019 at her residence. She was born November 5, 1933 in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Porter Jarrell and Eathel Jarrell.  She was preceded in death by her husband Kyle Lee Gantt Jr., son David Lee Gantt, brothers Larry, Michael, and Jerry Jarrell, along with her sister Joyce McMillian.

Dolores was an avid gardener and when not tending to her home or caring for her husband and kids, she could be found gardening and taking care of the flowers that beautified her yard. She also thoroughly enjoyed excursions to the beach and mountains.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Chuck Overcash. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home.

She is survived by brothers Dick (Becky) Jarrell, Lowell (Elaine) Jarrell, Ronald (Barbara Jo) Jarrell, Johnny (Linda) Jarrell and Keith Jarrell, sisters Rosalie (James) Simpson, Pearl Smith, Sharon Boles, Brenda (Thomas) Edwards, and Debbie (Bobby) Puckett, children Kyleen (Darryl) Harrington, Douglass (Jeanetta) Gantt, granddaughter Tangie (Terry) Williams, grandsons  Shawn Gantt (Melissa Emerson), Brian Gantt (Nikki Garmon), along with five additional grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Memorials can be made in Memory of Dolores to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
