Billy Ray Whitlow, 72, of Kannapolis, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Mooresville, NC on December 19, 1946 to the late Ray and Faye Whitlow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Whitlow and a step-son, David Parson.

Billy spent his career as a truck driver and retired from Yellow Freight. He was a United States Marine Veteran who honorably served his country in Vietnam.  He was a member of the VFW Post 8989 and a member of the Allen Graham Masonic Lodge. He also enjoyed going to the St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Savannah over the past 35 years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Maria Parson; daughter, Donna (Steven) Via; daughter-in-law, Mary (Dean) Castillo; sister, Kay Parker; brothers, Danny Whitlow and Gary (Gwen) Whitlow; grandchildren, Haley Parson, Fischer Parson, Wilson Parson, Parson Via, and Desmond Castillo, and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends at his home at 310 Brook Street in Kannapolis on Sunday, Sept 29. A celebration of life will be held on the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah, GA.
