Betty Tims Hallman, 87, of Kannapolis died Monday, October 28, 2019 while at Tucker Hospice House following a brief period of declining health.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 PM Friday, November 1, at Whitley’s Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 2:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Park.
Betty was born July 4, 1932 in Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late Silas Tims and Rosa Lee Baker Tims. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Baity and Marie Levan. She was a longtime area resident of Kannapolis. In earlier years Betty worked for Cannon Mills as a time keeper. She was known as a care giver for her family, taking care of both an aunt and a brother-in-law. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 61 years, James E. Hallman of the home, her sons, Charles Hallman of Kannapolis and Hugh Hallman (Gayle) of Greeneville, TN, her daughters, Christine Perkins (Mike) of Kannapolis and Karen Hardy of Kannapolis. Her grandchildren include Daniel Hallman, Jessica McGalliard, Samuel Hallman, Harry Hallman, Micah Perkins, Kristi Sutton, Grace Perkins, Lindsey Hardy, Adam Hardy and 6 great-grandchildren; Elora, Raylon, Chandler, Taylor, Makenzi, and Joel Jr.
