Jo Christopher Overcash

Jo Christopher Overcash, 76, of China Grove passed away Saturday February 24, 2024, at The Landings of Cabarrus.  Jo was born on January 21, 1948, in Cabarrus County to the late Worth Levi Christopher and the late Bertie Payne Christopher.

Jo was a 1966 graduate of South Rowan High School and received her associate degree in Business Administration from RCCC.  She was a member of First Methodist Church in China Grove, and a former member of Shiloh UMC in Granite Quarry where she was active in United Methodist Women’s, Sunday School Teacher and various other areas in the church.  Jo worked at Food Lion corporate office and retired from Performance Fibers. Jo enjoyed shag dancing, spending time at the beach, walking and working in her yard but especially having Fun in the Sun with her Grand and Great Grandchildren.   

In addition to her parents Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Vernon C. Overcash, Sr., sisters, Dot Eller, Marlene Anthony and Terry Christopher.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Marty Campbell, Jr. (Tammy), daughter, Tesha C. Sigmon (Val), stepchildren, Angie Overcash and Clint Overcash, Jr., Grandchildren, Maeghan Smith (Ian), Michael Campbell (Bri), Madyson Matthews (Bradley), Kyndal Sigmon and Kamryn Sigmon, step grandchildren, Trenton Overcash, Kacie Overcash, and Chloe Overcash, great-grandchildren, Mavery, Meyer, Carrington and Beckham, and brother, Harold Christopher.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM on Friday March 1, 2024, at the First Methodist Church, 110 W. Church Street, China Grove, NC  28023.  A Celebration of her life service will begin at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Will Van Wieren officiating.
